20 years ago the J-horror Dark Water was released, followed 3 years later by the American version Dark Water (2005). They are both based on a short story written by the author of The Ring.
We also touch on the mysterious case of Elisa Lam mostly to point out the coincidental similarities between her death in 2013 and the 2005 film.
